The Good Landlord Scheme is supporting an innovative approach to private renting, looking to find ways in which both landlords and tenants can partner to provide sustainable homes and rent streams. 

We know that landlords often want to support lower income households in Brighton and Hove and the Good Landlord Scheme is looking to counter the widespread image of landlords only interested in collecting their rent. 

Benefits for landlords who join the Good Landlord Scheme include:

  • A guaranteed supply of suitable tenants for your property

  • Tenants are likely to stay much longer cutting down on income lost through voids

  • Making a positive contribution assisting lower income households struggling in an expensive market

  • Connections into supportive letting agents who can help to manage the property for you


To join the scheme, we ask landlords to allocate a property or two and charge a monthly rent that does not exceed the Local Housing Allowance rate. We can supply tenants for these properties whose household income does not exceed £30,000 per annum who would value a more affordable rent to be able live in and around Brighton and Hove.
